Behind the Brush: Insights Into the Creative Journey
My creative process is a dynamic blend of mixed media, harmonizing structure and organic forms together. For this collection, pulling back the vivid colors of the environment shifts the focus to the gentle curves and organic imperfections that define the landscape, revealing a quiet beauty in simplicity and form. Using textured modeling paste and a variety of tools, I carve linear depth into salt marsh and coastal shapes, adding dimension and movement. The waterways come alive with poured resin, capturing the shimmering reflections of light, while the horizons are painted in acrylics to evoke distance and a sense of place.
This collection, bathed in soft whites and blues, celebrates the calming essence of water, light, air, and natural motion.
